I feel most prepared to teach aligned with college and career expectations among the ELA Standards because I think that college has taught me a lot about being independent and responsible for my own work and realizing that in the real world, there isn't going to be anyone to baby you and to remind you about due dates. I think that in elementary through high school, my teachers didn't do the best job of forcing us out of our comfort zone and making us do things on our own. As students, we often relied on each other and our teachers to remind us of upcoming due dates and we weren't as independent as we should have been. When college came around, it was somewhat of a culture shock for me, so when I become a teacher I would put an emphasis on independence and teaching students to be more responsible on their own. One thing that will require more learning on my part would be to build upon the strengths and lessons of our current state standards. As of right now, I do not know the current state standards of Florida so I would need to be more educated on that topic before I went into teaching.

For the Newsletter Design assignment, I learned a lot! I learned how to make cool borders around a document, how to format a Newsletter in general, and how to incorporate a lot of different Microsoft Word tools into one document. I have never made a newsletter on Word before but it was really fun to be able to use my creativity to make a newsletter for my students. In the future, I could utilize this for many different things. Even if I didn't become a teacher, I could use these skills to make different kinds of documents in any kind of career I do. Now that I know hoe to do everything, next time I could make it more creative and I could make it look much cooler.
